Once upon a time...Getting signed to a "Record Deal" was an artist cashing in his lottery ticket, because baby he made it! Back in the day EVERY artist wanted to get signed to the "Majors", Oh Boy! Times have really changed, while the younger generation of artist (don't know any better) are still dying to get signed to a record deal, not too many up, and coming artist are so eager to jump at that opportunity anymore? Yep, "Major" labels ARE NOT where it's at right now, and it's not too clear as to whether, or not they will ever be again. The artist of TODAY, which are the artist who have worked their asses off for over the past 10-20 years to get the INDEPENDENT "Indie" statuses that they have aquired seem to have the "Majors" eating out of the palms of their hands.

That's right Folks! The "Game" has changed, there are new BOSSES in town, better known as SELF-MADE INDEPENDENTS, and they aren't looking for "Record Deals" they're on a mission to take their rightful place in the empire of music, and TAKE their share of the pie. It's been a long bitter road for some artist, but the tables have finally turned, and it seems the "Majors" are the "Independent artist's BITCH! So, if you're an unsigned artist still looking to get a "Record Deal" you're already loosing, because in the world of NEW ARTIST coming out a "Record Deal" isn't the best career move, you'd PROFIT more doing it on your own in the long run.
