In the dramatic docu series "Power" why is it that 50 Cent gave Omari Hardwick's leading lady's character to a hispanic women, and not to the black women who stars alongside Omari as his Ex-wife? (the women Omari Hardwicks character left for the "white" women)? Why was it depicted in the series that a "Black Man" left a " Black Women for a "White women"? Would the series had been less interesting if the storyline were the other way around? What if Omari Hardwick's character had been married to the "White women, and left her for an old flame which was the black women? Hum, something to think about right? That's eactly what I thought! I was talking to one of my bestfriends the other day, and we were discussing our careers as black women, our struggles, and life in general, and somewhere during the conversation we got on the subject about "Black Men", and how they play a very important role in the black women's life. My friend went on to ask a valid question. She asked, why don't "Black Leading Men" in hollywood speak up, or choose "Black Actresses" as their leading ladies? Valid enough! We've all seen it, Many "Black Leading Men", including Will Smith, Morris Chestnut, Omari Hardwick, and Denzel Washington at many times throughout their careers appeared in more films with white women, or some other ethnic of women as their leading lady instead of a black women.

Now, I made the statement that maybe it was hollywodd pulling the strings, it could be political, a plow to gain a diverse viewing audience, but she wasn't buying it. She brought it to my attention that "Stars" who make over a certain amount of money, or who've received an oscar have the right to "Choose" their own leading ladies, Really? Like many "African American" women, she felt hurt, insulted, and angry at the fact that our men choose to recognize another culture of women amongst their own. She raised another eyebrow when she went on to state that you don't see "White men" with "Black women" as their leading ladies, and she was sure they had that as a stipulation in their contracts. So, why do you think "Black men"choose white women, asian, or hispanic women as their leading ladies instead of supporting their own? Even when involved in a serious off screen "interracial" relationship it seems black men are very proud to show off their white, asian, or hispanic women on the red carpet, and on their arms. It doesn't appear that they're bothered by how it effects their "Angry Black Women".
